Bogotá, Colombia
A firm built on
listening carefully
Chibcha was formed to offer something straightforward: financial thinking that serves the business owner, not the other way around.

How Chibcha came to be
Chibcha began with a question that kept surfacing in conversations around Bogotá: why do so many owners feel anxious about their own financial statements? The numbers belong to them, yet something about the way those numbers are typically presented — dense, technical, delivered without context — keeps the meaning just out of reach.
We were founded in 2019 by advisors who had spent years inside larger consulting structures and noticed that the clients who benefited most were not necessarily the largest ones. Often it was a company with thirty employees, or a family business at an inflection point, where a clear conversation about cash flow or controls could genuinely change direction.
The name Chibcha carries a deliberate weight. The Muisca confederation, known historically by that name, was distinguished by careful record-keeping and exchange systems — an early Colombian tradition of accounting, in a sense. We liked the idea of placing ourselves in that lineage: structured, local, oriented toward honest exchange.
Since opening our office on Carrera 15 in the Chicó neighbourhood, we have worked alongside manufacturing firms, professional service practices, and small distributors — all at different stages, all with different questions. What stays consistent is our pace: unhurried, systematic, and responsive to what the client actually needs rather than what a template assumes.
Our Mission
What we are here to do
Clarity over complexity
Financial information should be understandable to the people responsible for acting on it. We translate, contextualise, and simplify without losing accuracy.
Balance over urgency
Good financial decisions are rarely made in haste. We create space for deliberate thinking, because that is where lasting improvements take shape.
Partnership over prescription
We offer analysis and informed perspective. What to do with that perspective is always the client's call. We stay in the role of trusted advisor, not decision-maker.
The Team
The people behind Chibcha
A small team, which means you work directly with the people listed here — not with junior staff assigned after the first meeting.
Andrés Morales
Founder & Lead Advisor
Andrés spent eleven years in corporate controllership before founding Chibcha. He leads Financial Foundations Studies and Controllership Companion engagements.
Lucía Vargas
Financial Planning Advisor
Lucía brings a background in planning and budgeting for mid-size Colombian firms. She leads Financial Clarity Sessions and oversees the written summaries delivered to clients.
Carlos Pedraza
Advisory Associate
Carlos supports both the Controllership Companion and Foundations Study programmes, with particular focus on dashboard design and finance staff alignment sessions.
How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
These are not marketing points. They describe the actual shape of how engagements run at Chibcha.
Strict confidentiality
Client financial information is never shared, discussed with third parties, or referenced in aggregate without explicit agreement. We formalise this in writing at the start of every engagement.
Written outputs, always
Every session produces a short written summary. Clients should not have to recall what was discussed from memory alone — that is our responsibility to document.
Punctuality and preparation
Sessions start on time and end when the work is done — not before, not extended unnecessarily. We review your materials before each meeting so that time together is well used.
No pressure, ever
We do not up-sell, cross-sell, or suggest services that are not relevant to the client's actual situation. If a question falls outside our scope, we say so directly.
Continuous learning
Tax law and financial reporting in Colombia evolve regularly. We keep current with DIAN guidelines, local NIIF implementation, and planning norms so clients don't have to.
Open, honest feedback
After each engagement we ask clients what worked and what did not. Responses shape how future sessions are structured. We take this seriously.
Financial advisory for Colombian businesses, at every stage
Chibcha works with businesses across Bogotá and remotely throughout Colombia. Our advisory focus spans cash flow management, financial reporting, management accounting, and internal controls — the disciplines that give an owner a clearer picture of where their business actually stands.
In a market where consulting services can feel opaque or sales-driven, our approach is shaped by a different set of priorities. Sessions are structured around your questions, not a preset agenda. Deliverables are written in language your team can use, not only a specialist. And the pace of each engagement is set in conversation with you, not by a standardised timeline.
We also understand the Colombian regulatory environment — including DIAN reporting requirements, NIIF adoption for SMEs, and the tax calendar that shapes planning decisions through the year. That context is part of every conversation, not an afterthought.
If you are considering working with Chibcha, the most useful starting point is a brief introductory call. There is no charge for that first conversation, and nothing that follows is assumed. We believe the right working relationship starts with a candid exchange about what your business needs and whether we are well placed to help with it.
